Why HeyPros Was Built
HeyPros was not started by people looking for a random software problem to solve.
It came out of the construction world.
Dmitriy Ivanchuk, a Ukrainian immigrant and cofounder of HeyPros, built the company around a problem he knew was holding construction businesses back: labor shortages, disorganized subcontractor operations, and too much money and time getting lost between winning the job and actually getting it completed. Forbes described HeyPros as a company founded to help construction businesses handle the labor shortage during the post-COVID building boom.
That origin matters.
A lot of software companies approach construction from the outside. They see a big market, identify inefficiencies, and try to build a tool around them.
HeyPros came from a different place.
It was shaped by people who had already seen what subcontractor operations look like when they are stretched, inconsistent, and held together by calls, texts, spreadsheets, and memory. Internally, Dmitriy has described HeyPros as being built by a construction company that manages over 1,000 subcontractors across the West Coast. That is a very different starting point than building software from theory alone.
The problem was not hard to find.
Construction companies needed better ways to coordinate subcontractors, keep compliance organized, dispatch work quickly, track communication, and avoid the constant breakdowns that happen when job details live in too many places. Subcontractors needed clearer communication, better access to work, and less friction moving through the job.
That is the gap HeyPros was built to address.
Not just helping companies find subcontractors.
Helping them actually run a better subcontractor operation.
And not just helping subcontractors get work.
Helping them move through that work with more clarity and less confusion.
That background still shapes the company now.
